Millie

Dr Millie Bompard

I am the project lead for the GAEA platform, overseeing curriculum development within each of the facilities, and co-writing the scripts for the courses and skills videos. I have also undertaken the 3D imaging for the facilities, and I am working on some new technologies to turn these spaces into interactive locations where we can meet, and learn about the sites online.

Previously I have worked as the Deputy Curator at BOSCORF, where I was responsible for managing the collection of over 14KM of sediment cores, and operating the core scanners at the facility. I completed my PhD in late quaternary geochronology of the Norwegian continental margin at Southampton, looking at redefining the timescales for large submarine landslides such as Storegga using marine sediment cores and multiproxy geochronology. I have a strong interest in teaching, creating accessible resources to improve PhD training, and fostering an inclusive academic community.
