Collecting samples in the field

Intended Learning Outcomes:
1. Identify key factors that influence the suitability of a sample for cosmogenic nuclide analysis, including inheritance, shielding, erosion, and geomorphological history.
2. Demonstrate proper field sampling techniques by recording essential site characteristics such as location, elevation, lithology, surface orientation, and shielding conditions.
3. Evaluate potential issues with sample quality and determine whether a sample is appropriate for surface exposure or burial dating based on observed geomorphic processes.
